How interlibrary loan (ILL) and document delivery (DD) work for external libraries that contact the Library.
Interlibrary loan - ILL
Requests can be made via Sebina Next, ILL-SBN or by email. A maximum of 3 books can be requested at a time; the same library cannot have more than 6 books on loan at the same time.
Once the availability of the requested books has been confirmed, the shipping arrangements and any reimbursement of costs – which will depend on the type of delivery requested – will be agreed with the requesting library:
The receiving library guarantees this reimbursement, as well as compensation for any damage or loss of the volumes received on loan.
The interlibrary loan normally lasts 40 days from the book's shipping date; upon request, a single extension of 15 days may be granted.
Excluded from interlibrary loans are all materials reserved for internal consultation only, books for exam preparation, works acquired in the last year following requests from the Library's users, and books acquired in the last 4 months.
Libraries in the Library System of the University of Florence and Bocconi are exempt from reimbursement because, in the first case, there is an agreement and, in the second, a reciprocal free-of-charge agreement signed by the Library System of the University of Bologna.
Document delivery - DD
The service is provided exclusively between libraries, for the fields of economics and business. A maximum of 10 documents can be requested at a time.
The document delivery service is provided via the NILDE platform, through ACNPDoc or by email, if permitted by copyright law.
The current library is the result of the aggregation of 3 libraries for which unification in ACNP has not yet been completed; it is therefore responsible for the libraries with the codes BO112, BO121 and BO129.
In accordance with current copyright law, reproduction may not exceed 15% of the book's total pages or of a journal volume, and the receiving library undertakes to provide its user with a printed copy and to destroy the received file at the same time.
The service is free of charge for all requesting libraries.
