How to request a book or a journal article that no library in Bologna holds.
Monograph requests
The inter-library loan of monographs (ILL, Interlibrary loan) takes place exclusively between libraries and/or cultural institutes. The service is reserved for University of Bologna users in the fields of economics and business.
You can request a maximum of 6 volumes simultaneously.
Although many libraries have an agreement on mutual free access, the requesting library may be asked to reimburse the costs of the service. In such cases, those requesting the volumes are required to cover them. The lending library sets the arrangements and duration for consulting the document.
The request for books must be made by filling in a form in the library.
Requests for journal articles and book chapters
Document Delivery (DD) consists of requesting from another library the reproduction of journal articles or book chapters not held by Bologna libraries.
The service is reserved for University of Bologna users in the fields of economics and business.
In accordance with current copyright law, reproduction may not exceed 15% of the total pages of the book or journal year, and the documents requested are delivered exclusively as a paper copy.
For libraries in the Nilde network, these constraints are summarised at the following link https://nildeworld.bo.cnr.it/it/content/regolamento#sotto1.2
You can request a maximum of ten documents at a time.
The requests for delivery of copied documents can be made:
- in person at the library
- by email, sending the request from your Unibo email address, in order to qualify as an institutional user
- through the MyNILDE application. When registering for the first time, in response to the question <Have you an institutional IDEM-GARR user account?>, select “Yes”, choose the institution (University of Bologna) and then log in using your university credentials.
Unless otherwise specified by the library to which the request is made, the service is normally free of charge for the user.
